William "Bill" Knutsen died surrounded by family in William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital on February 11th, 2021 in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 76.
Bill is survived by his wife, Charlene and family dog Mollie of Necedah, Wisconsin; children, David (Doreen) Peight of Palatine Illinois , Deena Peight-Lyga of Holmen, Wisconsin, and Darin (Jessica) Peight of Lena, Illinois, seven Grandchildren, Robert (Michal), Dylan, Brianna, Hope, Noah, Owen and Alivea and a great grandchild Sophia and great grandchild Samuel, on the way.; Brother, Raymond (Donna) Knutsen of Machesney Park, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Della Knutsen and a niece and nephew.
Bill was born on September 13th, 1944 in Savanna, Illinois to Raymond and Della Knutsen. He was in Vietnam while serving in the Army for two years. From 1965-1967. He married Charlene Ehrke in 1973. Bill has been a Farmer, Truck Driver, Carpenter, Welder and Fabricator. Working for Walker’s Stainless Steel for almost 42 years as a Welder and Fabricator. His children remember him as a kind, patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Bill was a witty character who loved RVing across the country and enjoyed many recreational outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycling and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed his Seasonal camper at Pride of America in Pardeeville and joked with friends and family about many different subjects. Bill
was passionate about Johnny Cash and his music and the Green Bay Packers.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the coming months. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill's life. The family would like to thank the Hospice Staff at William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital for his care.
