Valerie Jean Villavicencio “Mimi”, 66, passed away on November 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
A radiant presence and light in every room, Valerie had a gift for making people feel known, welcomed, and cared for. If she knew your name, she loved you—and you felt it.
Valerie found joy in the simple, beautiful things of life. She nurtured plants and gardens with the same tenderness she gave to people. She adored thrifting and hunting for treasures wherever she was, traveling with her husband, and getting the most out of life. Her eye for hidden gems—both objects and people—was one of her quiet superpowers.
Above all, Valerie was built for caring. She had an unwavering ability to make things better, no matter how hard the moment. Her light filled every corner, there was no darkness when you with her. Her compassion was steady, effortless, and deeply real. She was a woman of God whose faith was strong; she walked with Jesus through her life and reflected His love in the way she treated others.
Valerie is survived by her husband and soul mate, Mark Villavicencio; her children Chad Miller (Samantha), Amy Schleiss (Douglas), Marky Villavicencio and Nikki Villavicencio-Tollison (Darrell); and her beloved grandchildren Evan, Chase, and Louie Miller, Maggie Gabbei, and Alley Paulson. Each of them carries a piece of her gentleness, humor, and light; Her sisters Bonnie Volkmann (Gary), Trina Messer (Ken), and Kim Patton (Todd) and many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by her parents, Norman and Judith Schehr; her brothers Michael Schehr and Roy Schehr.
A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held at a later date, when friends and family can gather to honor the extraordinary woman she was.
Valerie left the world brighter than she found it, and her warmth will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her.
