Steve Vorass Sr., age 72, of Pardeeville, Wisconsin, found peace on January 31, 2025, embracing his final moments with his beloved family.
Born January 14, 1953, to Eugene and Dorothy Vorass in Palentine, Illinois, Steve graduated from Lake Zurich High School and then dedicated over three decades of his working life as a skilled machinist at Warner Electric in Rockton, Illinois. His commitment to work in his profession carried over into his personal passions of fishing, gardening, and cooking, where he found joy in sharing his harvests and home-cooked meals with those he loved.
A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, Steve could often be found cheering on his beloved team and sometimes yelling at his TV. His greatest pride, however, was his family. He is survived by his brother, Tom (Wife Judy and children Mike and John Vorass), children Steve Vorass Jr. (Wife Thea and children Miles and Ella Vorass), Joni Lillard (Daughter Mackena Lillard), and Angie Stroud (Husband Brad and children Devyn, Garrik, Zoey, Elora, and Livia Stroud).
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Dorothy, his sisters Ann and Karen, and his brother Pat.
In his later years, Steve found great happiness among his friends at what he affectionately called the "Wrinkle Ranch" in Pardeeville, where he became a beloved member of the community. His legacy lives on through his greatest lesson to us all - to treasure every single day we have with those we love.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held in the spring with a small immediate family gathering at the Wisconsin River. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests telling someone close how loved and special they are.
