Steven L. Kaltenberg, age 67, of Madison, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at his residence. He was born on November 8, 1958, WI the son of Lawrence and Louise (Compton) Kaltenberg.

Steven graduated from LaFollette High School in the class of 1977. He Married Sandra L. Kaltenberg Dec 29, 1982. He Started working at Pepsi in 1975 and retired June 24, 2021. He worked on everything warehouse related. He started as a part-time bottle sorter and held several other positions including loading trucks, working on the production line, pre-mix and post-mix filling lines, receiving, stocking, and checking in drivers. His coworkers described him as an ‘everything guy,’ who could do any task in the warehouse, and in a timely fashion with a smile on his face. He enjoyed the variety that came with the position and took pride in being the go-to guy. Fellow employees best described him as ‘Chipper’ as he was easy going and got along well with everyone.

Outside of work Steven enjoyed working on cars, home improvement projects, going for car rides around WI, and spending time with his daughters. During his wife Sandra’s last years of life, he visited her every day in the nursing home. 

He is survived by his two daughters Rachel (Steven) Angel, and Kayla (Mike Bishton) Kaltenberg; grandchildren Abigail, Liliana and Faith Espinoza; siblings Roxanne (Christopher) Carpenter, Ron Kaltenberg, Larry (Johanna Wertsch) Kaltenberg, and Craig Kaltenberg. 

He was preceded in death by Mother Louise Kaltenberg, Father Lawrence Kaltenberg, spouse Sandra Kaltenberg (Bockover), Brother Robert Kaltenberg, and mother-in-law Nancy Bockover.

A Celebration of Life will be held at his Sister Roxanne’s home Sunday June 28th 2026 at 2 PM
