Shareen (Stowe) Evenstone
Shareen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, at age 75. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Thelma Stowe; her husband, R. Devon Evenstone; her sister-in-law, Roxanne Corriere; and her nephew, Paul Gazo.
Proud and devoted mother of Amanda (Dawn) Siebert-Evenstone, Lauren (Zach) Stephen, and Allison Evenstone. Cherished grandma of Camden, Ella, and Bennett. Dear sister of Jon Stowe and sister-in-law of Sonia Shields, Roz (Marcia Tipton) Corriere, Nicholas Corriere Jr., and Robert (Jenny) Corriere. Fellow grandma with Nancee Siebert. Dear aunt of Emerson Mueller, Sarah Hilleshiem, Cassie Corriere, Kari Stowe, Brian Stowe, and Krystyn Stowe. Great aunt of Taylor and Mercedes.
She was born in Milwaukee in 1948 and attended Carroll College studying Psychology and Sociology before pursuing her life’s passion of being a social worker for Milwaukee County. She was a lifelong learner and attended as many lectures and “Grand Rounds” as she could. She instilled this love of learning to all around her, from supporting her three children through many years of school to reading nighttime stories to her grandchildren.
Shareen put family first, but with her work ethic and determination, she showed how you could do it all: a beautiful family, a fulfilling career, dinner on the table at 6pm every night, and floors clean enough to eat on. This strength was also evident as she continued working out at Curves, striding around Greenfield Park, and being a mall walker. She enjoyed beating family in cribbage, solving crimes along with her murder mysteries, and trying out new restaurants with her friends. She will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Shareen’s family is forever thankful to those who have shared well wishes, prayers, support, and stories throughout this journey. Shareen and her family would like to thank the kind and caring nurses and social workers from Agrace and the honest and empathetic Dr. Lindsay Puckett.
Shareen's family will celebrate her life on Thursday, May 23rd from 10 AM to 11:30 AM, at Wisconsin Memorial Park located at 13235 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI 53005.
