Shannon M. Wareham

November 3, 1970 — August 2, 2022

With great sadness we announce the untimely passing of Shannon Marc Wareham of a pulmonary embolism on August 2, 2022, in Madison, WI. He was born in Madison, WI., November 3, 1970, to Marc and Linda Wareham. He married his soulmate and love of his life Nancy Castillo on New Years Eve 1997 in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. He was a brick mason by trade for 32 yrs. He worked on hundreds of recognized and historic buildings in Madison and other cities in Wisconsin. He left his initials SMW on every building he ever worked on. Shannon was a patron of many adult beverage establishments in Madison and the surrounding area. Shannon never met a stranger. His infectious laugh and smile would draw people in and never release them. He lived in Madison for most of his life. In 2017, he, Nancy and " the girls" moved to the Texas Coastal Bend town of Rockport, Tx. Shannon loved living on the ocean. He loved ocean fishing on the boat and fresh water fishing with friends in Wisconsin, watching the dolphins play and walking hand in hand along the beach with Nancy. He loved the Brewers and Packers even though it angered his Cub and Cowboy fan wife. He loved Nascar, fishing trips up north with the boys and just having a good time wherever he went. He was a master story teller, embellishing the story as only Shan could do. You could never tell how the story would end but you would be belly laughing along the way. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 yrs, Nancy, his 2 girls (Labradors Mija and Zuzu), his Grandfather James Cleasby (who he took breakfast to every Sunday morning at 8 am for the last two and a half years), Grandmother Angela Wareham (who called him "Punky"), his parents, 4 siblings, many aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews. He also left behind many people who were honored to call him their friend. He was preceded in death by Grandfather Nelson Wareham, Grandmother Charlene Cleasby, Grandmother June Cottrell and nephew Mason Wareham. Funerals weren't Shannon's style. He hated them. A celebration of his life "Shannonpolooza" will be held in mid October. A friend of his summed it up perfectly. She said "Shan didn't go into Heaven gracefully, he slid in sideways saying, "What a ride!""
