Scott William Thiel

Scott William Thiel passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022 at the age of 60. Beloved father of Fawn Vargas (Alex), Jake (Cloe) Thiel, devoted grandfather of Jesus, Julian, Adriana, and Malcolm. Dear brother of Rodney (Rosie) Thiel, Keith (Jackie) Thiel, Terry (John) Schroeder, and Sherry Schaller. Brother-in-law of Carol Thiel, son of Marion Thiel. Predeceased by his beloved brothers Billie Joe and Bradley and his father William Thiel. Scott’s whole world revolved around his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed playing games, having Nerf gun fights, and attending every one of their birthdays, basketball and football games, concerts and school activities. He was even a dedicated fur-grandpa, passing out treats and love as soon as he walked in the door. Scott never turned down a game of Skip-Bo or cards, and never went easy on you either. We wouldn’t be nearly as sharp without his competitive spirit. He loved the outdoors, whether it was cooking out, fishing, riding motorcycles or four wheelers. Scott often told stories of his childhood, tales of dirt bike burnouts on the kitchen floor and food fights with his siblings. He enjoyed his career as a truck driver and this made him the best person to ask for directions, no need for maps! These are but a few of the joys he brought to our lives, and he will be sorely missed. A celebration of life gathering is being held on Sunday, February 27th 2022 from noon until 3.30pm at the Elkhorn Community Centre, 109 N Wisconsin Street, Elkhorn 53121
