Sara A. Winter, 43, of Madison, Wisconsin, unexpectedly passed away in her home in Madison, WI on Sunday, April 11, 2021. Sara was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 16, 1977 to Terry and Sandy Winter and she had one older sister, Mindy.
Sara attended and graduated from Crandon High School in 1995. Sara moved to the Madison area shortly after graduation and briefly attended UW-Whitewater before joining the working world where she held a variety of positions in industry and food service. Sara spent a number of years working as a server at Denny's and her manager affectionately referred to her as "Sassy Sara". Anyone who knew Sara will agree that she embodied that moniker from childhood onward. Sara often shared stories of her appreciation for her regular customers and enjoyed seeing friends or some of Mindy's coworkers wherever they stopped by the restaurant to grab a quick bite to eat.
Sara was one of the most boisterous people anyone could ever know and you definitely knew when she entered any room because her affection for all things glittery lit every path she traveled. Sara had a quick wit and a way of telling stories that was truly unique to her. She had an infectious laugh and she could make you laugh about the silliest details she would notice about things that you may have never even considered.
