Sandra Marie Hastings (Sontag), of Lily and Brookfield, died on March 03, 2023 at Agrace Hospice in Madison, WI. She was born on May 08, 1961, in Milwaukee, a daughter of Norman and Edith (Schmidt) Sontag.
She was a graduate of Brookfield East class of 1979.
Sandra lived in the Brookfield where she worked at Quad Graphics for the past 15 years. In the years following she moved up to Lily WI where she cared for her mother Edith Sontag who past in December of 2022.
Sandra truly lived life to the fullest through the simplest pleasures. Sandra was a caring and compassionate person who always loved and cherished her family. She was a hard worker who enjoyed cooking or doing crafts. Her sense of humor will be missed and if you were so lucky to listen in on a discussion between her and Catlin on how she is to be cremated and put into a wolf shaped cookie jar it surely would have made your day. She was always hospitable to anyone that would come around and often fed people absolutely too much, and despite her knowing they didn’t enjoy some of her food, she would insist that they take some for later. (cooking was always great) She was a lover of animals and often would take in a stray dog and a cat in a heartbeat. As of late she kept talking about a bear that would come around, and we are glad she didn’t have the opportunity to bring him in too. She loved the Green Bay packers and wants to thank the team for not wining another Superbowl before she passed. She also had a funny way of appreciating all men, and would regularly like to celebrate their presence by ordering them to do things for her, which her apprentices are ready to take her place. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
Survivors include her children Ryan (Danie) Hastings of Pine Mountain, Ga; Rachel Hastings of Antigo, WI; Justin Hastings of Brookfield, WI and her seven grandchildren; Evelynn Geis, Aidan Hastings, Riley Hastings, Isabella Hastings, Shaun Geis, Emma Anderson, and Elyse Anderson. Her nieces and nephews; Jessica Sontag, Joseph Sontag, Caitlin Sontag, Jamie Sontag, Callie Sontag, Noah Sontag
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother; Joseph Sontag, Edith Sontag and Norman Sontag as well as her four-legged best Friend, Molly.
