Ronald G. Whiting, age 89 of Cambria, passed away on 12/7/2023. Born in Madison, WI, to Thomas and Margaret Whiting (Heiliger) on 7/29/1934.
He was a proud Navy Veteran and devoted husband and father. He lived in Cambria after retiring from Madison Police Department for almost 30 years. He married the love of his life, Beverly J. Dolphin on 12/6/58. Ronald loved hunting, bowling, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Cubs. He would sometimes skip school so he could listen to his Cubs on the radio when he was a kid and later you could see him listening to the game on the radio with headphones on when games were not televised on TV. He always hoped he would still be alive to witness the Cubs' winning the World Series and was over the moon when they did..
Ronald is survived by his wife Beverly, of 65 years; his children, Ronald T. Whiting (Marty), Jon Whiting (Gina), and Kristen Rapp (Daniel); and his sisters, Barbara Hooverson (Richard), Judy Wyngaard (William), and Peggy Lutonsky (Rick).
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Thomas Whiting, and brothers', Jim and Tom Whiting.
A private celebration of life is planned for a later date.
Ronald’s family wishes to thank everyone at St. Mary’s Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to his family.
To Mom, always remember “The Way We Were”, by Barbara Streisand.
