Roderick “Rick” Lueck, age 72, formerly of Rome, WI, entered eternal rest on November 22, 2025. Born on March 20, 1953, in Milwaukee, WI, to Fillmore and Winifred Lueck, Rick grew up as one of seven children—five boys and two girls—and was the youngest of the boys. In 1960, his parents built a new home on the pond in Rome, WI, where countless cherished memories were made together.
Rick attended Rome Grade School and graduated from Jefferson High School. In December 1972, he married the love of his life, Barb, and together they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Paula and Laura, who were his pride and joy. Becoming a grandfather—and later a great-grandfather—brought him immense happiness. Although he and Barb eventually went their separate ways, they remained loyal and supportive friends throughout his life. Rick was an avid deer hunter throughout the years, and also enjoyed duck hunting with his beloved dog, Bailey.
In 1992, Rick discovered his true calling as a Charter Bus Driver with D&F Travel in New York—a career he would embrace until his retirement in 2021. He loved every mile of the journey, traveling with sports teams, seniors seeking warmer weather, and thousands of passengers making their way from New York to California to Florida and everywhere in between. He knew every route from New York to California. Rick took great pride in his spotless safety record, and passengers fondly remembered his warm personality and sense of humor.
For the past 30 years, Rick made his home in Bagley, WI, where he embraced small-town life, enjoyed cheering on the Packers and Brewers, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends.
Rick is survived by Barb; his daughters Paula (Aaron) and Laura (Steven); and his beloved grandchildren Alexandria (Eric), Brendon (Courtney), Devin, Emma, Bryce (Alivia), and Bryan. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Addison, Wesley, and Nolan; his brothers, Fillmore Jr. (Mary) and Bradley (Brenda); his sisters, Pat and Penny; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Charlie and Jeff, and his beloved dog Bailey, his faithful traveling companion.
Rick loved the open road, and his adventures touched the lives of countless people. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
