Roddie "Rod" Holden

June 5, 1955 — April 6, 2026

Roddie “Rod” L. Holden, age 70, of McFarland, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026. Born in Charleston, SC, on June 5, 1955, grew up in Madison and graduated from Marshall High School, eventually living in the Town of Dunn for over 40 years.

Rod built a fulfilling life with his wife of 46 years, Barb, their children, Derek and Alex, and grandchildren, Emma, Madilyn, and Buckley. Rod and Barb loved to bowl, shoot pool, and attend UW Badger football games, which turned into annual “Badger Invasion” bus trips taking place over the last 30 years. The family loved boating, snowmobiling, and spending time at their cabin in northern Wisconsin. Rod was relentless in business throughout his career, obtaining a UW business certificate, winning numerous sales awards, and building strong relationships that have endured decades. After Barb’s passing, he found new passions for travel, music, and living life to the fullest with Jeryn Veserat.

Rod had the remarkable ability to provide a positive perspective on life. His ability to mentor and encourage others to rise to their highest potential came naturally. Generous with his time and talents, it was important to him to give back to his community by supporting various organizations, especially teaching snowmobile safety courses. Rod left an indelible mark on the people he met throughout his life, and he will be missed beyond measure.

A celebration of Rod’s life will be held on Friday, June 5, from 3-7 p.m. at Christy’s Landing.
