Robert J. Mekeel

Robert “Bob” Mekeel Born: July 26, 1928; Poughkeepsie, NY Died: March 5, 2019; Jefferson, WI Bob, age 90, passed away at home in Jefferson, WI. in the caring presence of his daughter. He was son to the late Niles Ira Mekeel Jr. and Katherine Maude (Hubbard) Mekeel, and brother to the late Phoebe (Mekeel) Hauser. Bob married the late Doris Mae Roha in 1950 and they celebrated 68 years together. He passed only 25 days after her. Bob was very much in love with his wife Doris, until the end. He is survived by his four children: R. James (Melinda) Mekeel, Katherine (Mike Shinn) Mekeel, Susan (Jaime) Castillo, Jeffrey (Diana) Mekeel. Bob loved and cherished his 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A graduate of Allegheny College, he made a long career in sales with numerous steel companies and owned and operated a residential interior lighting design company in Florida. His life was celebrated on March 16,2019 at the Masonic Lodge in Jefferson, WI. He will be laid to rest at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville, PA.
