Richard Earle Jaques of Sun Prairie, WI passed peacefully July 28, 2022, at the age of 83.
Rick, or RJ as he was called, was born October 27, 1938, in Chicago IL, to Helen Elizabeth (Brown) Jaques and William Earle Jaques. He spent most of his youth roaming the open fields, parks, and the naval base in Glenview, IL.
He met his wife, Kristin, and many of his lifelong friends at Glenbrook High School in Northbrook, IL, where he was a member of the football team and participated in chorus, tennis, and wrestling.
He graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing.
Rick had many hobbies; boating, fishing, golfing, hunting, scuba diving, snow and water skiing. He was excited to share his love of scuba diving with friends in remote locations, like Cozumel, and with his grandchild, Hanna, at her certification dive in Hawaii.
Rick took great pride and interest in the lives and activities of all of his family and grandchildren. Both in private moments, and less frequent shared family ones, his joy in all undertakings was deep and apparent; educational milestones, travel, sports, music and theater, relationships, and things very new to him, and things he loved as well, all were sources of joy.
He is survived by his wife; Kristin (Nielson), 3 daughters; Kim Fiorenza, Kendall (Jim) Dolphin, and Kate (Doug) Barton, 9 grandchildren; Mari (Brian) Thor, Emily (Roger) Brooks, Rob (Justine) Fiorenza, James Dolphin, Maggie Fiorenza, Will (Maura) Dolphin, Christopher Dolphin, Hanna Barton, and Maddie Barton, and 6 great-grandchildren; Emmett, Jack, Aria, Owen, Connor, and Lydia.
Rick’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Meriter Hospital for their compassionate care. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If you feel so inclined, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
