Richard "Cowboy" Stapleton

Richard "Cowboy" T. Stapleton, 62, of Janesville Wi, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 12, 2022. Born Oct. 17, 1959 to the late Shirley Morgan and James Stapleton. He married Inese (Mickey) Stapleton & years later divorced, but remained good friends and dance partners. Rick was a man of many talents, he worked for years at Budget Home Improvement, loved spending time at his dads cabin in Millston Wi, was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, trapping and hunting, loved camping and kayaking with family and special friends. Rick is survived by his children, Nichole Zirba (Jesus Lucero), Lindsey Stapleton and Thomas Stapleton. Grandchildren Logan Smith, Emily Trappe, Aiden Beckwith, Kendra Stapleton, Keela Mcnertney, Jesus Lucero III, and Karson Prinkey. Sisters Pam (Ken) Frisque, Sheri (Donald) Almond, Step-siblings Bill Tollefson, Kim (Gary) Soergel, and Brenda Chesebro. Aunts Karen (Doug) Martinesen, "Toots" Veronica (Dan) Greving, MaryAnn Clark, and Kay Krupka, Uncle Gene (Gail) Lawrence, Special Friends Steve Edwardson, Mike Brockway and Cathy Ruble. Roommate Cory Pease. He was predeceased by his Mom Shirley Morgan, Father James Stapleton, Stepmom JoAnn Stapleton and best friend Russell Pomplun. Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
