Peter Melone

On September 26, 2021, Peter Melone died peacefully in Cottage Grove, WI. He was 78 years old. Peter is survived by his brother Richard; sons Jonathan and Tony; his grandchildren, Dominic, Mario, Giuliette and Ella. He was preceded in death by parents Dominic and Emily, his siblings, Patricia, Dominic and Anthony. Peter was born on April 10th, 1943, in Chicago. He graduated from Lang Tech High School. He went on to attend Southern Illinois University where he graduated with BSED’s in Math and Social Studies and a MSED in Sociology. He later earned an MBA in Finance at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Peter’s favorite past time was sailing, which began during his time at Southern Illinois University. He achieved his dream of owning a house on Lake Mendota in 2005 so that he could enjoy sailing every summer. Pete could often be found on weekends on local dance floors and over the last few years made many new friends playing water volleyball at the YMCA. No memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones and friends in the future when a service is scheduled.
