Patricia Ann Duerst

Patricia Ann Duerst, 66, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, surrounded by her loving family.

Patty was born on January 9, 1960, in Madison, Wisconsin. She graduated from Monona High School and dedicated many years of service as the floral manager at Sentry Foods in Madison. Patty was known for her incredible green thumb and her deep love of gardening and caring for her many houseplants. She had an extraordinary ability to identify plant species and knew exactly how to nurture them, a gift admired by family and friends alike.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Duerst and her grandson, Harrison.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Ben and Greg (Jackie); her cherished grandchildren, Elijah and Josefina; her brothers, Tom (Becky), Rick (Patty), and Larry (Kathy); and her sister, Judy.

Patty will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, beautiful holiday decorating, and the love she so generously shared with family and friends. Her capacity for giving and for always putting the needs of others before her own was second to none, even when it was not convenient for her. Patty touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
