Michelle Shaw

Dec 30, 1946 — Oct 23, 2026

Michelle LaVonne Reynolds Shaw of Columbus, WI died in the early morning hours of Friday, October 23, 2026, her daughter Nicole at her side. Born December 30, 1946 in Madison, Michelle was the second daughter of Bill and Lavonne Reynolds. She grew up in Columbus in what she often described as an idyllic childhood. Michelle graduated from Columbus High School and attended UW-Madison until her marriage to Adrian Shaw. After Adrian graduated from UW-Oshkosh, they returned to Columbus where Adrian worked as an accountant and Michelle worked as a wife and mother to Nicole and Christopher. She later worked for UMOS, ROA Films, American Family, and Dean Health Plan. With the exception of a short time living in the Milwaukee area, Michelle lived in Columbus the last 49 years of her life.

Intelligent and possessing a strong personality, Michelle was not someone to be trifled with. But she was also a kind person who was the first to welcome and include someone new, and always eager to protect and encourage an underdog.

Michelle leaves behind her children, Nicole and Christopher (Sarah Short); sisters Stephanie and Penny Reynolds; niece Kelly Marks; nephews Rick Werner (Julie) and Drew Reynolds (Julie); great nephews Ian Marks Werner (Hannah) and Patrick Werner: and great nieces Allison Werner and Natalie (Stanton) Weber. Michelle also leaves behind the best brother-in-law ever, Dave Schulz. And finally, although Michelle had no biological grandchildren, she was blessed with grandchildren in-kind, each of whom she loved dearly.

Michelle was predeceased by her parents, sister Judy Parker, former husband Adrian and other relatives. A private burial and family luncheon will be held at a later date.
