Our dear sweet brother, father and friend Michael (Mike) Dufer, 69, of Freeport,IL, formally of Madison WI has passed away. He was born on February 11, 1955 in San Diego the son of Jeanette and Richard Dufer. He will be remembered as a sweet blue eyed smiley faced angel. Michael spent most of his childhood in California surfing, lying in the sun, camping and going to the mountains. At the age of 18 he relocated and joined three of his brothers and a sister in Wisconsin. Michael had various jobs in his career cooking, farming, crab fishing in the states of Washington, Hawaii and Alaska as well as a stagehand working in Madison. He enjoyed spending his time with family, friends and a good cup of coffee.

Michael is survived by his son, Nemo Brown and daughter Selu DuFer; siblings; Steven Buss, Kathy Starks, Rick Dufer, Dennis Finnegan, Peggy Burnett and David Finnegan.

Michael will live in our hearts and soars today in heaven. See you soon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family was assisted by the Cremation Society of Madison.
