SUN PRAIRIE – MaryAnn (Schumacher) Kleemann, age 95 died on Saturday, July 23rd. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on November 19, 1926, daughter of the late Hugo and Anna (Mergen) Schumacher. She married Karl K. Kleemann on September 29, 1951, recently celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. She worked in the Madison University area cleaning apartments for many years. She was a former “Sweet Adeline” and enjoyed singing in the St. Peter’s Catholic Church Choir. She was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1318. She volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital for 26 years with her husband, Karl.
Survivors include her loving husband, Karl: two daughters, Karen (Dennis) Suchomel of The Villages, Florida; Anna (Randy) Adkins of McFarland; two sons, Kenneth Kleemann (Mary Ebert) of Madison; Paul (Karleen) Kleemann of Madison; six grandchildren: Kyle (Jessica) Adkins; Blaire Adkins (David Groshek); Zachary (Taylor) Kleemann; Sarah (Brian) Lee; Mark (Rebecca) Kleemann; Aaron (Sawyer) Kleemann and five great grandchildren with one due in October. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Norma Thompson and Thelma Holcomb and four brothers: Stanley, Marvin, Roger and Kenneth Schumacher.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12th at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 5001 North Sherman Avenue, Madison, WI 53704. Rev Gabriel Lopez-Betanzos and Deacon Todd Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI at a later date. Friends may call at the church an hour before the service.
