Mark Glenn Johnson

July 14, 1979 — October 19, 2025

Mark Glenn Johnson, 46, went home in the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ, on October 19, 2025. Mark was born on July 14, 1979 in Madison, WI to Gerald and Amy Johnson but was raised in Stoughton. He reveled in neighborhood sports and graduated from Stoughton High in ’97. Mark was a gifted mechanic and could repair just about anything. He also learned taxidermy, receiving multiple awards for his realistic pieces. This artistic ability also came through in his woodworking skills.

Mark was a loving, kind and sensitive soul who always had time to help a stranger or save an animal. He loved the outdoors and was happiest fishing, treasure hunting, collecting rocks and having conversations with friends around the fire. He loved his family dearly and his faith was strong.

Mark is survived by his Mother, Father, Brother Luke (Sarah), Nephews Hunter, Elijah and Niece Isabella Johnson; Aunt Stacia (Tod) Severson; Uncle Dick (Sue) Payne; Uncle Charlie (Sue) Payne; Uncle Tom (Joan) Johnson; and Aunt Kathy (Ed) Asebedo. He also leaves behind many cousins that meant so much to him. Mark was preceded in death by his Grandparents Thomas and June Johnson, Jane Baum, Francis Payne and Aunt Carol Bergen.

We would like to thank his best friend, Mike McLaughlin, and the many friends he made along the way. Special thanks to Dr. Chris Harkin and Caryn Firkus for their dedication and care. No funeral services per Mark’s wishes. He will be laid to rest up north where he was happiest. Memorials can be made to the Dane County Humane Society.

The most important thing is the amount of love you leave behind and the amount of love you take with you. Thank you Mark for the endless love that surrounded you. We are shattered that you had to leave but grateful to have had you in our lives. Rest my Beautiful Child. I Love You, Mark, Always and Forever, Mom.
