Marjorie Lynne Kilby (Helfrich), 79, of Madison, WI, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024. She was born on November 17, 1944, in Columbus, OH.
Marjorie, known to her loved ones as Lynne, was a devoted English teacher who touched the lives of many students. She started her career teaching high school English in Garden City, Michigan, and Garfield Heights, Ohio. Later, she transitioned to administrative support at the Wisconsin National Primates Research Center at the University of Wisconsin, where she dedicated herself until her retirement in 2019.
Lynne was a passionate individual with a thoughtful nature, especially when it came to her grandchildren. She had a love for watching movies and was an avid fan of Aaron Rodgers, regardless of the team he played for. Living in Madison brought her great joy, and she cherished her time working at UW and supporting the Badgers.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Kilby; son, Kristopher Kilby; and brother, Tom Helfrich. Lynne was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Turner Helfrich; mother, Helen Marjorie Coe; and brother, Ken Helfrich.
She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Gabbi, DJ, Alli, and Nina.
