Marcy Lange

December 6, 1943 — July 10, 2025

We are mourning the loss of our mom, Grandma Marcy, sister, auntie, and friend to many. Born Marceline Ruth Hazeltine on Dec. 6, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marcy left our world on July 10, 2025. She was 81 years old.

Marcy’s life was full and rich with adventure and lived with a spirit and zest we will all easily remember. She was mom to daughters Cindy Stuttgen (De Forest), Stef Schneider (Santa Fe, New Mexico), and son Scott Schneider (Denver, Colorado). She was Grandma Marcy to Karly Rauls (De Forest), Jared Stuttgen (Poynette), Wesley Schneider (Paris, France), and Hannah Schneider (Colorado Springs, Colorado).

Marcy was a loving sister to Claudie Lund (Charlotte, North Carolina), Dick Hazeltine (Milwaukee), Marilyn Thaney (Inner Grove Heights, Minnesota), and David Hazeltine (New York, New York). She was preceded in death by her mother Pearl, father Albert Hazeltine, and son-in-law Rick Stuttgen.

Growing up in Milwaukee, Marcy left the big city at 18 for farm life, settling on a 40-acre horse farm—Evergreen Acres—with her first husband Donald Schneider. There, just outside of Wausau, Wisconsin, she raised her three children, enjoyed horses, country music, square dancing, and the challenges of life on the farm. Her stories and tales of adventures were endless.

Twenty years later, Marcy divorced Donald and married Harmon Lange. Life entered a new chapter, starting in Wausau and moving to Scappoose, Oregon. Marcy took on motorcycles, photography, life with an aviator and airplane builder, and soon chasing her dream to fly. She earned her pilot’s license, got her own airplane, and began to fly whenever weather permitted in the skies over Oregon, Washington, the Western United States, and of course, Wisconsin. She and Harmon were active attendees and participants in the annual Oshkosh, Wisconsin, fly-in. They also made some of the best deep-fried cheese curds in Wisconsin!

Another twenty years later, Marcy moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter Cindy, husband Rick, and her grandchildren Karly and Jared. She enjoyed and valued the love, attention, and support they provided. Son-in-law Rick was one of her favorite people. In addition to family, Marcy found a new love—driving school bus, the children, and Kobussen Buses, LTD.

Her friends and family will remember her with a smile and knowing she lived a good, adventurous, and enriching life, and she will be greatly missed.

To celebrate her life, a gathering sponsored by Kobussen Buses, LTD, is planned for Aug. 22, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Kobussen Bus Terminal, 4931 Cake Parkway, De Forest
