Marcia Richgels

September 11th 1959 – July 16th 2026

Spring Green/Cross Plains – Marcia Richgels, age 66, passed away on Thursday July 16th, at Ingleside Manor in Mount Horeb. She was born on September 11th 1959 in Madison, the daughter of Alvin and Claire (Lasher) Joyner.

Marcia graduated from Oregon High School in 1977. She spent most of her career working for Iowa County running the Youth Offender and Underage Alcohol Program. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and time spent helping youth. She’s touched so many lives during her career working with the courts and helped many children.

She’ll always be remembered as the life of the party and she always knew how to have fun. She was very positive and willing to help anyone and everyone who needed it. Mama Marcia, as called by many, was loved by all her kids, including her adopted kids. She was known to always have extended visitors at the house growing up. One of her favorite hobbies- looking forward to attending cat shows, seeing old friends and making new friends and memories.

Marcia is survived by her son, Nolan (Bekah) Richgels, granddaughter Lilly, daughter, Emily (Alec) Baratta, granddaughters Raegan & Evie; mother, Claire Joyner; brothers, Lee (Diane) Joyner and Brian (Dale) Joyner; sister, Marlene (Jim) Olson. She is preceded in death by her father, Al; and her sister, Marge. Marcia will also be deeply missed by many extended family members, friends, and classmates.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Bristol Hospice, EMT and the hospital personnel who cared for Marcia.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Online condolences may be made at Cremation Society of Madison.
