Fitchburg- Malvina “Mal” Marie Langlois, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Malvina was born in Madison on June 4, 1950, the fourth of six children of Fred and Eldrie Langlois.
Malvina graduated from East High School as an honor student in 1968. She was a gymnast, loved sports, played French horn in the band, and was a member of the choir. She was the top student in shorthand and typing.
Over the years, Malvina worked for the State of Wisconsin and for the Dane County Regional Planning Commission. She retired after working twenty years at Strand Associates.
Her travels took her to California, Japan and Florida.
For most of her life Malvina loved to play on softball teams, as pitcher or catcher. She loved volleyball, ice skating, swimming, bowling, and especially dancing! For music she turned to R&B, soul, and smooth jazz. Her dogs were Yorkshire terriers, and her cat was a Maine Coon named Lacy.
Through the years Malvina maintained a close relationship with Bill Forrer, to whom she was married from 1970 to 1976, and with the Forrer family.
Malvina is survived by her brothers, Fred and Dan (Patty) Langlois, as well as by several nieces and nephews, and by her close friend, Susie Gallina.
Malvina was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother, Joe, and her sisters, Loretta and Linda Langlois.
Mal had a huge heart and a smile that could light up a room.
A private burial service will be held, and there will be a celebration of her life at a future date.
