Lorraine Moore

February 18, 1932 — April 9, 2025

Lorraine Moore, 93, of Madison, WI passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 9, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. She was survived by her son John Moore, daughter Jane Staehle, son-in-law Bill Staehle, grandson, Ben Staehle and granddaughter, Emma Staehle.

Lorraine lived a full and vibrant life. She was an eternal learner, always interested in learning new things by attending workshops or seminars in a variety of topics. She was an artist and enjoyed painting in the Japanese style of Sumi-e. She was a published author of several books. She was invested in her living community serving on several boards at her senior living complex. She was a lover of many things including, nature, art, science and reading.

She was well educated, receiving her bachelor's degree from University of Minnesota - Duluth, her masters degree from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and her Phd. from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. Her vocations were a School Psychologist, Teacher and Professor. After her retirement, she taught Tai Chi classes.

She was a kind, compassionate, loving person who made friends wherever she went. She loved the spontaneity of life and enjoyed many adventures. She believed in fairness to all and was not afraid to speak her mind if she felt something was not right. She loved her family and friends fiercely and loved to celebrate every milestone.
