Lolita Marie Knapp (née Loftus)-
Passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, March 29th, at the age of 92. Born October 26, 1930, in Rockford, IL.
Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William, and her son-in-law, Kevin Butler.
Mother to Mary (Jim Klein), Bill (Jody), Susan (Jim) Burns, Kathleen (Dan Egan), Carol (Kevin) Butler, Nancy, Christopher (Patricia), and AFS daughter, Elfriede. Grandmother to Rebecca (David), Sarah, Angela (Shannon), Patrick (Nicole), Jesse, Hannah, Derek (Beckie), Preston, (Michelle), Amelia (Jake), Steven (Julia), Emily (Garrett). Great grandmother to Colin, Griffin, Clara, Grace, Stevie, Ellanora, Sloane, Cyrus, Otto, Andrew, Forrest, Miles, and Sullivan.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Lolita and William were longtime residents of Greendale, WI, and active members of St. Alphonsus Parish.
Lolita’s greatest joy was her family. She welcomed everyone into her home. Her favorite saying was “there is always room for one more”.
Lolita will be remembered for her home cooked meals, baking, sewing and crafting for her children and grandchildren, as well as keeping a beautiful home.
She was actively involved in several volunteer organizations, supporting her children’s activities, and in helping to support those in need.
In retirement, Lolita and William enjoyed touring the country in their motorhome and were avid world travelers.
The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge, where she spent the past 3 years, and Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care.
A celebration of life will be held in the Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge Chapel at 10:30am on Saturday, April 15th, 2023.
To honor Lolita’s memory, the family suggests contributions to Agrace Hospice.
