Lance Dockter

Lance A. Dockter, age 63, of Blue Mounds, WI passed away January 8, 2026. Lance had an outgoing, friendly personality and with his unique sense of humor and tall stories of adventure, often provided many laughs for family and friends.

Lance was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on September 1, 1962. He was graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1981 and became a life-long mechanic, including ownership of LD Auto Body in Middleton, WI. His dream, however, was to heed the call to “go west young man,” which he did at the age of 27. He found it difficult to decide in which beautiful western state to settle, eventually putting down roots in Victor, ID with a view of Grand Teton from his kitchen window. He felt he was in heaven and as a plus found that auto mechanics were in demand and jobs plentiful!

He is survived by his parents, Del and Sally Dockter; brother, Brock (Carrie) Dockter; sister, Heather (Tim) Ziegler; nephews, Rainge (Taylor) Dockter, Cole Dockter, Evan Ziegler and niece, Adysen Ziegler.

A celebration of Lance’s life is planned for this summer. He is a beloved oldest son, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
