Kenneth Sam Tippery, age 81, of Lodi passed away peacefully on Friday, May. 15, 2026. He was born the son of Alden and Sarah (Shulka) Tippery on July 8, 1944, in Prairie du Chien , Wisconsin.
Ken was a 1963 graduate of Prairie Du Chien High School. After high school Ken enlisted in the Air Force. While stationed in Spain as a firefighter he was a major part of the recovery and cleanup efforts of the 1966 Palomares Spain accident. After serving his country he went to college at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. While living in Milwaukee and attending school he met the love of his life Nancy Jean Tessmer. They were united in marriage on July 19, 1969, in Junction City, Wis.
Ken was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a longtime member and faithful servant of the Lake Wisconsin Evangelical Free Church in Lodi. Ken worked at Rayovac as a mechanical engineer, first at the Fennimore plant and then later moving to Lodi and working at the Madison plant on Winnebago street until his retirement. Throughout his life Ken loved hunting and fishing, teaching his sons and grandchildren the joys of the outdoors. Upon retirement, Ken dedicated his daytime hours to caring for his grandchildren, taking them for countless walks around the neighborhood, endless hours of fishing, and making sure to have a candy bar and ice cream on hand for all of them. Ken “Kenny” was known for his kindness, gentleness and dedication to his wife and family. He will forever be missed. Ken is survived by his children, Garth (Valerie) Tippery and John (Rachel) Tippery; five grandchildren, Kenda Tippery, Alden Tippery, Arthur Tippery, Oswald Tippery and Howard Tippery of Lodi, Wis.; siblings, Mary (Fred) Thro of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Peggy (Perre) Abel of Marquette, Iowa, Tom (Jean) Tippery of Oden, Ind.
Ken is further survived by in-laws, Rita “Pat” Geiwitz of Prairie du Chien, Wis; Louise Tessmer of Marshfield, Wis., James and Kathleen Tessmer of Junction City, Wis, and Sharon Studinski of Custer, Wis., Nathan Bruce of Milton, Wis; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Nancy Tippery; parents, Alden and Sarah Tippery; stepmother Magnolin “Lena” Tippery; brothers, Larry Tippery, Gerald “Jerry” Tippery and Delford Pitzer; sister, Faye Kautman; grandson, Cullen Tippery; daughter-in-law, Heather Tippery; sisters-in-law, Ann Tippery, Rosemary Bruce, Judith Bishop and Peggy Maier; brothers-in-law, Don Kautman, Conlin "Connie" Maier, William Tessmer, Gerald Studinski, and David Bishop. Funeral Services will be held at LAKE WISCONSIN EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, N1640 Ryan Road, Lodi, on Friday, June. 5, 2026. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Hunter Newton will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at Greenway Manor in Spring Green WI along with Agrace Hospice for their loving care of Kenny.
