Kathleen P. Hanna
Kathleen Hanna (Madison, WI resident for most of her life) passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the age of 65.
Kathleen was a graduate of UW-Stevens Point and dedicated over 30 years to the State of Wisconsin, where she retired from her position as a Senior Examiner for the Department of Financial Institutions in 2020. She felt a great honor to serve the public and assist them.
She was well-known in the Madison area pool leagues and took great care and pride in practicing and improving her skills. She competed in numerous pool tournaments around Wisconsin and the USA; by which she rose to the skill level of “Master” throughout her life. The family’s pool table room is brimming with her trophies and accomplishments.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Aubrey (Hanna) Thompson, and grandchildren Onyx and Opal Thompson. She is further survived by siblings, aunts and uncles, and cousins; as well as many friends in the community.
Kathleen was preceded recently by Tim Hanna (uncle), Patrice Boe (aunt), Roger Rossen (brother); and less recently by Jean and Clyde Hanna (grandparents, by whom she was raised) and Sharon Hanna (mother).
Kathleen truly loved gathering for conversations and laughter; gatherings with music, friends, and a good beer were some of her favorite moments. Her heart was overflowing with love and compassion. She put her heart to loving work by helping friends who found themselves in hard times. She adored many people from all walks of life; who returned their affection in abundance.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 noon-3pm at Wilson’s Bar (2144 Atwood Ave, Madison, WI 53704). Bring photos/memories if you would like to share your stories.
