Judith Ann “Judy” Zobel nee Zenda, age 87, of Milwaukee, went to her eternal heavenly home on January 31, 2024.
Judy was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 3, 1936, to the late Theodore Zenda & Ruth Zenda nee Marquardt. Judy married the late Clifford Zobel on October 30, 1981, enjoying 34 years of marriage before Cliff’s passing on February 4, 2016.
Judy was a multi-talented woman with a passion for documenting her family and friends by taking photos. She was an accomplished piano and organ player, a member of the Florentine Opera Company and Milwaukee Opera Company. A lifelong member of Atonement Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and occasionally played the organ. A socially outgoing person, Judy enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends.
Judy spent 19 years working for the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee, retiring as an executive secretary to Robert Uhlein, Jr. Judy took great pride in her secretarial skills, remembering her shorthand into her late years. She also worked briefly for the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Cliff, brother Theodore Zenda, Jr., stepsons Paul Zobel and Neal Zobel. She is lovingly survived by her stepdaughter Carolyn (Richard) Raymaker, sister Suzanne Seeley, sister-in-law Carol Zenda, nieces Wendy Rozhon, Amy Zenda Johnson and Emily Zenda; nephews Daniel Teague, Joel (Sarah) Teague, Erik Zenda, Ben (Erin) Zenda, Joshua Seeley and Jonathan Seeley; by a very special, devoted great-niece Amanda Helmers and her daughters Paizley & Chloe; and other family members, dear friends and caring neighbors.
A memorial service will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church, 4500 N. Sherman Boulevard, Milwaukee, WI, on March 16, 2024, with visitation beginning at 11am and funeral service at noon.
