Judith Ann Collins (Holzbauer), known affectionately as Judy, passed away on July 8, 2024, in Janesville, Wisconsin, at the age of 83. Judy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She married Richard Collins in 1959 and they remained happily married until his death in 2012. Judy spent her life nurturing a family and enriching the lives of those around her.
Judy dedicated many years to the upbringing of her children and to her profession as a preschool teacher, where she touched the lives of many young children with her kindness and enthusiasm for learning. Her nurturing nature was evident to all who knew her, making her a beloved figure to family, friends, and students.
Judy enjoyed golfing, bowling, crafting, various water sports, snow skiing, and a good party! She was renowned for her ability to host and entertain, often bringing family and friends together for memorable backyard pool parties, holiday gatherings, and special weekends just for sisters and grandmothers. Judy's love for adventure and her spirited personality made her the heart of every gathering.
Judy is survived by her Sons: Jeff (Eileen) Collins, Mike (Lisa) Collins, and Jim (Lyn) Collins; Sisters: Maryanne (Mike) Horbinski, Debbie (Dave) Zachman, and Trish (Roy) Larson; Brothers; Jim Holzbauer and Mike (Debbie) Holzbauer and Sister-in-law; Mary Holzbauer. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Aaron (Netalee) Collins, Laura (Jake) Kneebone, Ryan (Emily) Collins, Jason Collins, Adam (Kirsten) Collins, Christopher (Hilary) Collins, Matthew Collins, Dustin Collins, Ben Cooper, Melissa (Eric) DeGroot, and Megan Collins; along with twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Mary (Schutte) Holzbauer; her husband, Richard Collins; her son, Todd Collins; her sister, Cathy (Holzbauer) Aerts; and her brothers, Scott Holzbauer and Gary Holzbauer.
Services to honor and celebrate Judy’s life will be held @ 11:00 am Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, Wisconsin 53182. The family will host a celebration of life following the service at Dover Inn located in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Judy may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
Judy's warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
