Joyce E. Poole (nee Schimming), Madison, WI, passed away on March 4, 2024
A person with strong family values, Joyce cherished her rewarding life as a dedicated mother. She also enjoyed a challenging professional career of more than 20 years service at the Dane County Exposition Center & Fairgrounds (presently named The Alliant Energy Center). She served as an Administrative Assistant in the Administration Office scheduling the event calendar and assisting with management and development of the multipurpose facility. Joyce had an active role in the production of the annual Dane County Fair as well. She is survived by her four children: Deborah Proctor of Madison, David (Jacquie) of S. Milwaukee, WI, Todd (Carrie) of Madison, and Kelly (Kathleen) of Madison, together with 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her niece Cheryl (Scott) Wardell, nephews Michael (Rhonda) Johnson and James (Patti) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard R. and Mary (nee Bossart) Schimming, her sisters, Caryl (William) Christensen, and Shirley (Neal) Poole, and dear brother Paul. A special thank you goes out to Joyce’s son Kelly for his tireless work, loyalty, sense of responsibility, love, compassion, and genuine care he has given Joyce during her final journey these past few years. We also thank Agrace, especially Nurse Jen, for their care and support they have given during this difficult time. Thanks to Cremation Society of Madison for their help.
