Joseph (Joe) J. Walter

1950 – 2024

  Joe lived everyday with joy and gratitude. He loved to be in nature and found happiness in his family, yoga practice, and books. He made friends easily and put everyone at ease who met him. 

 Those who knew Joe surely have a good story and lasting memory. He was always available to listen, enjoy conversation, and up for outdoor adventures. 

 His greatest joy was in his wonderful children, Tim and Katia, and his beautiful new granddaughter, Daria.

 Joe passed away suddenly on September 1st in Madison WI after enjoying a long bike ride. He is survived by his spouse, Kathy Walter, children Tim Walter and Katia Micka, son-in-law, John Micka, daughter-in law, Kadie Becker, and granddaughter, Daria Walter-Becker. Also, brothers Mike and Charlie, sisters Kathie, Maggie, and Sue, and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

A Celebration of Joe’s life will take place:
