Joseph R. Imilkowski, of Fitchburg, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at UW hospital in Madison, at age 82. He was the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Brusewitz) Imilkowski. He was raised in Milwaukee with his sisters, the late Judy (the late Dale) Nadboralski, the late JoAnn (Ronald) Gorski, and the late Jean (Joseph) Gengler.

After Bayview high school, Joe served in the Air Force from 1962 to 1969. He attended the University of WI and was a member of the Kappa Eta Kappa fraternity. Joe was married to Adrianne (Evans) Imilkowski for 53 years and they have two children, Jillian and Jacy. He leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Joe worked as an electronics technician for many years and he had a communications business. He was a past member of the Fitchburg volunteer fire department, a lifelong amateur radio operator, an ultralight pilot with EAA, and an avid supporter and participant in local biking events. Joe was a volunteer at the Fitchburg Senior Center and also participated in many volunteer community activities.

A celebration of Joe’s life will happen on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The Gardens are located at 3330 Atwood Ave., in Madison, WI.
