John was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, graduated Wabeno High School in 1973, and joined the US Navy serving his country for several years in active duty and the reserves. He went to college in Stevens Point, Milwaukee, and graduated with a Psychology degree from UW Madison.
John has lived in various towns within Wisconsin, Madison Florida, and most recently Randolph Wisconsin. He spent his career working in various colleges, greenhouse nurseries, and retired from retail sales.
John is survived by sister-in-laws Sherry Bath and Kathryn (Kate) Bath, and siblings Kathryn (Kathy) Bath, Ronald (Angelia) Bath, Joseph (Patty) Bath, Raymond Bath, David (Cheryl) Bath, and many nieces and nephews.
John is proceeded in death by his parents James and Barbara (Treis) Bath, and brothers James Jr (Jim) Bath and Michael Bath.
John was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan, enjoyed spending time with friends and family over the years, gardening, caring for animals, attending farmer’s markets, and sight-seeing nature’s beauty.
John was given his “Final Salute” on Monday November 17, 2025 at the VA Hospital in Madison Wisconsin with family, friends, staff, and fellow veterans lining the hospital halls and receiving a final Taps.
The family would like to thank John’s longtime friend Robert (Bob) Judy for his continued friendship and recent care for John, and the VA Hospital Madison staff for the compassion in John’s final care and tremendous support to the family.
