JoEllen Gavin

JoEllen Gavin (Hanson) of Jefferson, WI passed away on Monday, April 7th at the age of 70. JoEllen grew up in Janesville, WI. She was one of six children of Mary Ellen McCabe and LaVerne Hanson. She is survived by her sisters Debra and LuAnn, brothers Tom and E.J., son Sean and daughter Tracy. JoEllen was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick and brother Steve.

JoEllen loved to spend time with family and friends, often playing card games, listening to music, working in the garden or just sitting around chatting. Those that knew her will miss her contagious laugh and her quick wit. JoEllen worked hard throughout her life and was a very resilient woman, oftentimes overcoming hardship to keep on smiling. She had a very generous spirit and a love of life that she showed in big and small ways. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

There will be a celebration of life memorial on Sunday, June 8th from 11 a.m-1 p.m. at Dorothy Carnes County Park in Fort Atkinson. Flowers for the celebration can be ordered by calling Felly’s Flowers (E. Broadway Madison location) for the family to bring to the celebration.
