Jeffery M Harrison

Jeffery Marlon Harrison of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on August 1, 2026, peacefully in his home after a long illness.

Born on November 22, 1968, in Painesville, Ohio to Benjamin and Mona Harrison. Jeff attended Hononegah and Harlem High schools, Class of 1987. He is cherished as a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Jeff married Melinda (Mindy) Haile and raised a wonderful family consisting of Stevie Christine Harrison (Keith Waldsmith), Kinsey Denise Mertz-Harrison (Martell Hall), Kenneth Joseph Harrison (Monica Hessian), Amanda Kay Percy (Tyree Percy), Lily Grace Harrison and 5 grandchildren. Jeff and Mindy opened their doors to many others who needed them. Jeff is survived by his sister, Karen Ferguson, Rockford, IL and brothers Michael (Melissa) Harrison, Webberville, MI, and Brett (Melissa) Harrison, Machesney Park, IL. He was a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews and a loyal friend.

Jeff enjoyed entertaining people and always made an effort to put a smile on their faces. He owned Marlon’s Magical Mania, where he performed countless magic shows for all ages, along with appearing as a clown entertainer for birthday parties and events. Jeff was an extraordinary baker who loved spending time in the kitchen. Many people were always looking forward to his holiday baked treats.

August 20, 1987 - August 5, 1994, Jeff served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman and worked as a Lab Technician at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, SC. He further served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy during Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He was a member of their Navy Search and Rescue Team. He earned several commendations — National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Navy Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Southwest Asia Campaign Ribbon with stars and Kuwait Liberation Medal. Jeffery was very proud to serve his country and was an advocate to countless veterans.

Jeff is predeceased in death by his parents and beloved inlaws, Rick Haile, Sr. and Brenda Haile, and his granddaughter, Marlie Kay Winter Harrison.

There will be a Memorial Service celebrating Jeffery’s fulfilled life and honoring his military service on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Riverside Community Church, 6816 N. 2nd Street, Machesney Park, IL 61115 at 11:00 am, officiated by Jeff’s former youth minister, Bobby Sheets.
