Janice L Frank

Janice L. Frank, age 87, passed away at Columbus Health and Rehab on August 28th, 2025. Janice was born on June 5th, 1938, to Paul and Mildred Kirner. She graduated from Portage High School. On May 17th, 1957, she married Everett “Junior” Frank. They were married for over 50 years and made Baraboo, WI their forever home. They had one daughter and one granddaughter.

Janice grew up on the family farm in Caledonia Township and loved to share memories of her time there. She and Junior loved going out to eat at supper clubs on Saturday nights and going for drives in the country looking for deer and other wildlife. Janice worked at McArther Towels in Baraboo for 41 years before her retirement. She was an excellent cook and passed down her love of baking to her granddaughter, spending every holiday rolling out her family’s famous sugar cookies together. Most of all, Janice loved spending time with her family, especially when everyone was laughing together.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Debbie Smith, and granddaughter, Kelsey Smith; brother, Ron (Arlene) Kirner; sisters, Joyce Herwig, Jackie Healy, Jeanne Baertsch; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Everett; parents, Paul and Mildred Kirner; father and mother-in-law, Everett Sr. and Evelyn Frank; sisters, June Koroch and Joan Konkel; brother, Larry Kirner; brothers-in-law Ervin Frank, Roger Frank, Stuart Herwig, Walter Konkel, Fred Koroch and Rick Baertsch; sisters-in-law, Judy Frank and Kathy Frank; nieces and nephews, Michelle Dehn, Pam Van Swol, Rick Van Swol, Peter Sviatoslavsky, and Jim Herwig.

A celebration of life will be held privately at a future date.
