Janet Gail (Luce) Soutar

Janet Gail (Luce) Soutar, age 82, of Wausau, Wisconsin (formerly a long-time resident of Elk Grove Village, IL), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at UW Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Janet was born on January 11, 1941, to Edward C. Luce and Irene M. Luce in Chicago, Illinois. Janet worked for many years as an Executive Secretary using her shorthand and excellent typing skills. She enjoyed working on various crafting projects like ceramics, crocheting, cross-stitch, and sewing throughout the years.

Janet was blessed with five grandchildren whom she loved very much: Nicholas Baiocchi (deceased), Michael Baiocchi, Zachary Baiocchi, Emily Exline, and Doran Exline. Janet is survived by her children: son, Donald E. Soutar of Jomtien Beach, Thailand; daughter, Mary K. Baiocchi (Mark) of Naperville, IL, her two sons, Michael and Zachary; daughter, Linda M. Exline (Kipp) of Marathon, Wisconsin; her daughter and son, Emily and Doran; and son, Robert S. Soutar of Woodstock, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Eugene Luce, Donald Luce, Carol Chmura, and Kathryn Pyka; and her grandson, Nicholas.

Janet shares this final message with her family and loved ones: “Goodbye, Good luck, and God Bless. I have always loved you.”

Per Janet’s request, there will be no funeral. There will be a private service for immediate family at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, IL in the near future.
