Jane Baum

Madison - Jane (Powell) Baum, age 96, passed away on August 10, 2022 at St. Mary’s Care Center. Jane was born August 22, 1925 in Madison, WI, daughter of William and Josephine (Chille) Powell. She worked many years waitressing and cleaning. In retirement, Jane knitted hats and baby blankets for unwed mothers and was part of the “Foster Grandparents” program at Central Colony. She loved her family, crocheting, puzzles, playing cards and bingo. She will be remembered for always being willing to help out anyone she could. She loved animals. Jane is survived by her children, Richard (Susan) Payne, Amy Johnson, Charles (Sue) Payne and Kathy (Ed) Asebedo, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Carol (Carlson) Bergen, her parents, siblings, family and her dog Peanut. Thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s Care Center for their compassionate care. Memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society. Jane’s cremated remains will be interred at Highland Memory Gardens. No services held per Mom’s wishes. Rest In Peace Mom. We love you.
