James “Spud” Patrick Juggan, age 53, of Blanchardville, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at SSM Health Monroe Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
James was born on October 18, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois. The son of Maureen Juggan of Blanchardville and Gerald Juggan of Streamwood, IL. He grew up in Chicago until 1986, when the family moved to Blanchardville. He attended Pecatonica High School and held a variety of jobs throughout his life, including his work on the Nipple family farm in Blanchardville, Advance Transformer in Monroe, Cummins in Mineral point, building cell phone towers and small engine repair.
James had an incredible curiosity and knack for figuring thing out. He loved tinkering with everything from vehicles to electronics and even taught himself how to build computers. He was known for his intelligence, his fearless approach to life, and above all, his sense of humor. “Spud” had a goofy side and loved to prank people – his laughter was distinctive, contagious, and unforgettable. He made everyone around him smile and was truly one of a kind.
James is survived by his sons, Adre Bleiler of Monroe and James Juggan of Blanchardville; his mother, Maureen Juggan of Blanchardville; his father, Gerald Juggan of Streamwood, IL; his sisters, Debbie (Jerry) Padulla of Monroe, Kristie Foreman of Gratiot, Michele (Ben) Burreson of Barneveld; his aunt Pat Szabo of Chicago; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Norman Suttell; his brother, Thomas Juggan; his aunt Kathy Menser; and uncles John, Jim, Tom and Chuck Schaus; and cousin Wendy Menser Daughtery.
Per James’ wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date so that family and friends can gather to share stories and laughter in his honor.
Spud will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
