Jalaine Rae Limbach

January 26, 1954 — September 20, 2023

Jalaine "Jaye" Rae Limbach (Cooley) was born January 26, 1954, in Boscobel, WI, and passed away September 20, 2023, in Madison WI. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Carl and Viola Buchwald, by her mother, Margaret Darlene Cooley, biological father, Byron Couey, and adoptive father, Beryl Dean Cooley. She is survived by her two children, James Owen Limbach of Oakland, CA (D. Kris Meadows) and John Clifford Limbach of Madison, WI; two grandchildren, Miles "Miley" Champion Aren Limbach-Meadows and Griffin Eric Matthew Limbach-Meadows; as well as several half-siblings, notably her sister, Jodene Theiss of Madison, WI.

Jaye earned her BA degree in Fine Art (Ceramics) from UW Whitewater, and supplemented her education with an Architectural Technology degree from Madison College. She went on to work as a draftsperson, most recently for Dane County Public Works, until retiring into her hobbies. She was a fantastic mother and grandmother, gifting her children with a love of reading and a passion for science fiction and fantasy. She enjoyed attending conventions such as WisCon and TeslaCon, and recently branched out into several local historical reenactment groups. She was also a passionate bird watcher and loved to explore beautiful places. She was an amazingly talented artist and inspired craftsperson; lovingly creating hand made art and gifts for loved ones throughout her life. Gifted in drawing, crocheting, knitting, needlecraft, and clothing/costume creation, she was also an aspiring author and builder of miniatures. Jaye was growing more resilient, empowered, connected, and inspired every day of her life. She was taken from us too soon, and we will carry what she gave us in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held in late November/early December.
