Jacob J. Meier

Blue Mounds, WI - - We regret to announce that Jacob J. Meier (Jake) passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, two days shy of his 86th birthday.

Jake was a graduate of Darlington High School and went on to serve in the United States Army.  He was a well-known and respected member of the farming communities of Darlington and New Glarus.  After farming, Jake obtained a degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and continued to share his extensive agricultural knowledge by becoming a sales representative for several farming and equipment companies in the area.  He went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring from Blain's Farm and Fleet in 2020.

Jake is survived by his three children, Mathew Meier, Michael Meier (Rachel) and Johanna Meier; sister Clara (John) Kubisiak;  two granddaughters, Jamison Meier and Joslyn Meier; eight nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Jeanne (Ellefson).  Jake was preceded in death by both of his parents, Marie (nee Marty) and Jacob Meier; sisters Doris Meier and Elaine Quinn.

Jacob had a strong relationship with God, and we feel blessed that he is resting in peace.
