Gregory “Greg” Mork
Greg passed away on January 12, 2026 at the age of 62. Greg passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family and his Pastor. He was born in Milwaukee, WI and later made his home in Gassville, Arkansas.
Greg was a passionate hunting and fishing guide and in the off season was an avid trapper. He spent countless days guiding anglers, new and seasoned, on Bull Shoals Lake, Norfork Lake and the White and Buffalo Rivers. Fishing was more than a profession for Greg, it was a way of life that reflected his love for nature, patience, and meaningful connections. He found peace in the quiet flow of the river and joy in sharing his knowledge and passion with others.
Greg will be remembered for his steady patience, authenticity, and deep appreciation for the Outdoors. He is described by friends, fellow guides, and his boss as a wonderful guide, a thoughtful philosopher, and a loving friend.
Greg was preceded in death by his father Gerald “Jerry” Mork, his mother Ione Mork, and his sister Laura Mork.
Greg is survived by his sisters Cheryl McDonald and Dawn Mork; his nephew Aaryon Mork and his wife Nikki; his niece Ashley Schultz and husband Corban; his great nephew Keiagane, wife Krista, and their daughter Audrey; and great nephew Cade Mork. He is also survived by his Aunt Carol Leavitt; cousins Janice McCormick and Beverly and Jeff Bootz; and other relatives.
Greg also leaves behind dear friends Eddie and Marnie Burkhart and Tim “Hot Dawg” and Pat Curtis, whose friendship meant so much to him. His family also extends special appreciation to Debbie and Ron Gamble at Cotter Trout Dock who gave Greg the job of a lifetime and supported him doing what he most loved.
Greg’s family would also like to extend heartful appreciation to Pastor Jeremy Edmondson and Grace Bible church of Portage WI for their spiritual support, compassion and care.
In accordance with Greg’s wishes, no service will be held.
