Fred Ascher

Sauk City/Merrimac - Fred Henry Ascher Jr, age 73, passed away unexpectedly from pancreatic cancer at St Mary's Care Center on January 15, 2025. Fred was born on December 18, 1951 the son of Fred and Olga Ascher. Fred grew up in the Fitchburg/Madison area and graduated from Verona High School.

Fred is survived by his loving daughter Becky, siblings Patsy(Ed), Bill(Beth), Bob, Tom, Pam, Tammy, Cindy(Bill) and Kerrie(Chris) and many nieces and nephews. 

Fred worked as a mechanic in his early years and later worked at WT Rogers, Rayovac and Milwaukee Valve. Fred enjoyed fishing and watching the eagles by the Wisconsin river. He also enjoyed steam and gas shows, car shows and taking rides with his daughter.

The family would like to thank Sauk Prairie Hospital, St Mary's Care Center and Hospice for their exceptional care. 

A private family gathering will be planned at a later date.
