Douglas Harold Shultz age 80, born on January 8th, 1945. Passed away on December 17th, 2025.
The son of Harold and Lois (Herheim) Shultz. He was a loving Father, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle. He was a Madison Metro bus driver for 35 years. He was proud to serve as a union steward. He bartended at his stepfather’s bar where he brought joy to all that met him. He enjoyed camping, gambling, going to auctions, sitting having coffee and if there were sweets that was a plus! He couldn’t wait for Sundays: to go gambling. A caring and genuine soul, his love for his family came first, holding the greatest place in his heart.
He is survived by his siblings, Joni Schwenn (Justin, Jordan, Jennifer) Lori Haack (Tim, Marisa, Krisit, Andy) Dawn Harris, Darlene Anderson. son Mike (Kathy) Shultz, daughter Shelly Christensen (Andy) grandkids, great grandkids, Cassie; Zay, Bryce; Adisyn, Amelia, Myles. Ashley; Samantha, Jeremy, Tanner & Delilah. His Brother-in-law Ray Wendlandt, Stepson Donnie Long and good friend Roz.
Great Uncle to AJ, Jamison, Jackson & “little nug” (girl) due in 3/2026. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son “Bear”, parents, brothers Steven and Louie who passed at birth, sister Deborah Wendlandt, stepfather Glenn Subka.
He is finally reunited with his son “Bear” and Waylon (Dog)
