Douglas James Houk

Douglas James Houk, age 65, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026 following a battle with cancer.

Doug was born on April 7, 1961, in Portage, Wisconsin, to Marilyn (Howe) and Lawrence “Dip” Houk. He was a 1979 graduate of Pardeeville High School. After graduation he joined the US Army. After serving in the military, Doug held various jobs, mostly known for working at Tolly’s Alleys in Portage.

He enjoyed any opportunity to get out on the golf course, and created countless treasured memories. Doug was a diehard Packer, Brewer and WI Badger fan. His love and unwavering support for those around him shaped the lives of those closest to him.

He is survived by his sons Spencer (Cait) Houk and Garret Houk. His grandchildren Jonah and Graham, His mother, Marilyn Houk; his siblings, Dale (Deb) Houk, Dean Houk, Dan (Sherri) Houk and Darlene (Charles) Curtis, Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Best friend Tom Fischer and special cousin Marlys Howe.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence “Dip” Houk.

Doug will be remembered for his ability to bring people together, his appreciation for life’s simple joys, and his belief in living life to the fullest. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the love that remains in the hearts of all who knew him.

In honor of Doug’s wishes there will be no formal service.

Though he will be deeply missed, Doug leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family committed to honoring the example he set every day.

Celebration of Life will be on July 18th , 2026 

from 4pm-6pm at J&J Fireball Lanes.
