Doris R. Mekeel

Doris Mae (nee Roha) Mekeel (1927-2019) Doris M. Mekeel Born: June 15, 1927; Meadville, PA Died: February 8, 2019; Jefferson, WI Doris, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home at Sylvan Crossings in Jefferson, WI. in the loving presence of family. She was daughter to the late Harold Roha and Edna Roha (Kightlinger), sister to Donald Roha and the late Rita Alcook. Doris celebrated 68 years of marriage with Robert J. Mekeel; and together raised, and is survived by, four children: R. James (Melinda) Mekeel, Katherine (Mike Shinn) Mekeel, Susan (Jaime) Castillo, Jeffrey (Diana) Mekeel. She was admired and loved by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Doris graduated from Allegheny College in 1949; and subsequently taught primary school, in Ohio, for many years. Besides Pennsylvania and Ohio, Doris resided with her family in Illinois, Florida, and Wisconsin in her later years A Celebration of Life was held for Doris on March 16,2019 at the Masonic Lodge in Jefferson, WI. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Meadville, PA.
