Detra Drews

October 15, 1960 — February 24, 2025

It is with heavy hearts, but peaceful spirits, that we announce the passing of a beautiful woman, Detra Drews, who left this world surrounded by love and serenity on February 24th. Detra was a devoted wife to her loving husband of 25 years, Dale Drews, and a cherished mother to her children, Mathew Jacobson, Tony Jacobson (Heather), Hillary Hanna, and David Drews. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Anna Jacobson and son Scott Jacobson, whose memory she will carry with her always.

Born to Betty Williams and Kay Bull, both of whom she now joins in eternal rest, Detra’s life was marked by unwavering love, kindness, and a deep devotion to those around her. She was a soul who ruled the roost with sass and affection, creating a presence that made the world a better place. Her siblings, twin Debra Drews (Daniel), brother James Bull (Lisa), and sister Danielle West, will forever cherish her memory, along with the memory of her late siblings, sister Denise Laymon and brother Michael Laymon.

Detra's life was a testament to the simple joys and beauty that nature brings. She found peace in quiet moments, offering guidance and love to her grandchildren (Antonio Jacobson, Brandee Jacobson, Noah Jacobson, Tyler Jacobson, Lillian Hanna, Dominic Jacobson, Mia Scott, Raymond Hanna, and Leo Milliken-Jacobson), which brought her much happiness and comfort. To Detra, life was about compassion, free will, and nurturing an environment where love could flourish. In her passing, she leaves behind these values as her legacy, as well as a large extended family and a community of people who were touched by her presence.

As we celebrate her life, we find solace in knowing she is no longer in pain. Detra has left an enduring example of living with love, bliss, and a heart full of grace. May her soul rest peacefully, and may her memory inspire us to live with the same grace and wisdom she shared.
